Missing Puppy

Last night after next level our small group came to our house. It was a great time. Lots of kids and lots of good stories. Plus, next level was awesome, and a defining moment in the history of our church ... so all in all, it was an awesome night.

I specifically did not let Tucker out while everyone was there. Instead, I waited until there were only 6 of us left, I let him outside for a bit, then called him inside, locked the back door, and had him come into the living room room. We are trying to get him used to people in social situations. He did great. So great, that he got disinterested in the people and moved to another room in the house. So, then later, we said goodbye to the people at the front door. Riley was sitting there at the threshold, but not Tucker. I assumed that he was upstairs in the bathtub, or downstairs in his bed.

This morning we woke up and had missed several calls from the petfinder recovery service (Tucker is microchiped). From what we can tell, he got out, went to the local bowling alley, was found by a police officer and a guy named Chris around 2:45AM. They went in to call petfinder, and Tucker ran away again while they were on the phone. Then, at 4AM someone named Mike found him and also called petfinder. I have talked to Chris and the police officer, but Mike has yet to return my calls this morning. I am slightly panicked ... and totally confused. How did he get out? I mean ... did he become invisible and slip past all 6 of us at the door. This is crazy!

This is the strangest thing ever.

I cannot understand how he escaped. We were all sitting there - and we even talked about how he was probably in the tub. I just don't get it.

When do you get him back?

WHEW! We got Tucker back at noon. Two very nice Hyde Parkers who just happened to be bowling at Madison Bowl last night at 4AM had him. They said he behaved very well for them. Happy to have him back.
