Today we took trip one to the Apartheid museum and then to the airport.
I went to bed last night before the logistics were settled, but it hit me like a ton of bricks today at breakfast when Krissy said, "Okay Rachel, you are going on the last bus to the airport so that they can drop you off at arrivals and you can receive the first plane full of week two people."
HUH? REALLY? LIKE THAT?
Yep, really, like that. In fact, the South African Air plane that week two arrived on is the same one that week one is taking back to the states.
I spent 5 hours at the JBurg Airport picking up our new team. It was great to see good friends that we purposefully asked to come on week two so that we would have something great to look forward to!
And so it begins again. We have fresh energy from the new team on the ground, new hopes, new dreams, and more relationships to build (oh, and some houses, too).
An update from the hospital: Maureen called me this afternoon to let me know that they had changed doctors, and that really worried her. Please pray for her to trust the doctor and for Cecil to show huge improvements under his care.
To the game park tomorrow! Pray we see a LION!
A few personal notes to the blog readers from comments:
Sara -- I have been hanging out with Lucy, I'll give her your message this week! Dora says thank you for taking care of her business!
Dave -- I received your wife myself. She has had dinner and hopefully is sleeping!

Yay! I'm so happy to hear Lucy is there and being loved on by you!
And tell Dora she was wrong...five emails so far and counting!! :)
Thanks Rachel. I hope that you're able to catch up with some sleep yourself -- perhaps you'll find some time in late July or early August. You're doing some good stuff on all fronts.
hey rachel!
been busy at the mall - first time I have read your blog in two nights! So many wonderful things are happening to you - love to hear what you are learning.
Mom and I are having a great time - Paul would be happy to know that we are adequately celebrating my new space! Tonight we went to Don Pablos on the river with Jenn, Justin and Burgy. The mall was fantastic today - Channel 12 broadcasted live on the 6:00 news! Tomorrow is a big day for weddings (7-7-07 - good luck I guess!) so they interviewed a bride getting married tomorrow and shot it from the mall. They showed my studio, and my sign was CLEARLY displayed on television! Jenn and Justin "taped" it, so we will have to show you when I return. (tell PO all this please!!)
Anyway, love you lots, and miss you tons. Ang came by the mall today and brought with her tons of hugs and encouragement.... it was awesome.
Only one more week! So excited to see what this brings for you all....

Rachel,
I am just hanging on your every word. It is so encouraging to hear your encouragin stories of the huge things God is doing on the other side of the planet. I think a whole 0-18 meeting should be dedicated to hearing your, Paul and Jamin's stories. And glad to hear an update on Kim T.'s arrival. She (and her sis) have been in my personal prayers a lot, so it's good to hear that they are tucked into bed.
Hoep you see your lion!

Rachel! Rachel! Rachel!
I'm sure you all have rock star status in Mamelodi. The airport reception is priceless! Could Angelina and Brad have more love showered on them? I think not.
I wish I could give you some of the 25 straight days of rain we have had. It would make your gardens grow. Floods came yesterday to our area and washed out many roads.
No mowing has been done anywhere for about 2 weeks and it's a rainforest now. A miracle after 22 months of drought.
There are hundreds, no thousands of flowers and butterfies here. Usually by July 4 all is bleak and brown. With every one I see, I send a prayer for you and your many friends, old and new.
Mom
Man, we miss the CRAP out of you. Come home already! Glad you were renewed and picked up the newbies with ease. Well done you.
