This past weekend the greater Cincinnati area experienced a true blizzard. We had at least 14 inches of snow, and lots of wind to blow it around. It was FUN!
I love a good laugh at the local news reporters standing in familiar parts of town saying things like, "You're right Jack, it's still snowing. As you can see, my snow boots are almost completely covered in powdery snow." Really? Did you have to go to college to acquire reporting skills like that?
Around Oaklawn drive, we had quite the exciting couple of days. This is Riley about half way through the snow fall. He was like a true snow leopard -- almost totally camouflaged most of the time. He enjoyed digging tunnels in the snow and then popping his head out to survey the land. I had to drag him inside, and even then he waited by the front door for the next chance to play in the frozen tundra of our yard.
The neighborhood kids kept him entertained. The only reason why you can see their feet in this picture is because the city had just plowed the street. As you can see, the bare pavement lasted only moments as the snow continued to fall.
The other kids on Oaklawn drive had a blast, too. We played snowball baseball and even snacked on some freshly fallen snow. I think the kids stayed out there for about 4 hours before taking a break. Snow is SUPER FUN!
