Norris Lake Parenting Philosophy

Before we had Cana we decided that she should be a part of our life, not become our life. We've kept that in mind on this vacation as we try to do what we love and find ways to include our newest family member.

Cana came on the boat with us today. She even had an infant life jacket and got in the water. She was totally naked under that jacket because our friend Jenn told us that if you put a baby in a regular diaper in water the diaper will explode.
Naked baby!!!

Just like when she is in a bath, she tried to lick the water and liked the towel cuddle time the best.Cute boating outfit courtesy of the Wooten family (Cana's, not mine).

That's pretty sweet. We also had the same philosophy before Isaac came, but given his demanding/high-maintenance personality, that all went to the wayside (for now, anyway). So I must admit...we're a little envious!! :o) Oh...and have you guys heard about swim diapers?? There are disposable ones or super-cute (and not too expensive) re-usable ones!! Just a thought for next time so little Miss Cana doesn't have to go skinny dipping all the time. ;o)

yeah, they don't make swim diapers until you weigh 15 lbs ... so that didn't really work for this summer. We'll just have to go all natural for now. She's just learning to be flexible.

It's not always grins when we bring her along, but we're rolling with it.
