Renovation Nation ...

A few pictures of our bathroom before, and in it's current state.

Here is a view from the door. Notice the proximity of the toilet to the bathtub. Your knees always had a resting place on the edge of the tub:

Now, the toilet will face the door. And no, that's not a framing mistake. On that back wall the tile was set into concrete that directly joined our OUTSIDE brick. So, we had to frame a wall in front of it. Now, when you walk in, there is an opening to the right (where a wall used to be). The vanity and shower are over there (in the old closet).
The old, gross bathtub (cast iron -- AP and Brett had to break it in half to get it out of the house). The next day a man knocked on our door and asked if he could take it for scrap metal. It weighed the trunk of his car down to the point that the bumper touched the ground.

The new tub! It's big and wonderful and clean! And, we'll have open shelving where that wall used to be that had some poor storage space before.
The old, moldy, peeling celling and walls:

The new cathedral ceiling with can lights !
The old closet, that we kept winter coats and dirty laundry in:
Is going to be a SWEET SHOWER!!! That whole back wall is the shower space.
My favorite part? RIVER ROCKS! Here is the shower flooring (they are much more smooth in real life):
Today they delivered the dry wall, tomorrow they put it in, and Saturday and Sunday are tile days! AP says next week is finish work. Then, hello wonderful, wonderful baths and showers!

This is going to be great. Process pics are so cool to see. You are lucky to have a multi-talented hubby like Andrew leading up this job. Can't wait to see it done. You will have to have a "potty party" when its complete!

Rachel...how exciting!?! We, too, are in the midst of some rennovations/remodeling. Ours, however, is mostly in the basement (right now)...so no showering at friends' houses for us. :o) Can't wait to see pics of the finished bathroom!
