Just to let you know, I hadn't done laundry in a week until last night. And last night, doing the laundry was not a happy experience.
Everything was going fine -- a little Tide, a load of darks, shut the lid ...
15 minutes later Riley starts barking his head off in the basement. I yell at him -- a lot. Until, finally I go down to investigate thinking that a three headed snake has slipped in through the garage or something.
Worse -- the entire downstairs bathroom is full of water. Apparently, when the washing machine drains the water comes right up through the sink in the bathroom. Not the desired effect, and precisely the reason we hired a professional plumber to do the bathroom. AP put a call into them this morning. Hopefully, they just forgot to reopen a valve or something. HOPEFULLY! Because currently, we're brushing our teeth in the kitchen and wearing dirty clothes.

Brushing teeth in the kitchen happens at lot in our apartment. The bathroom is just too small for two, so if you are brushing teeth at the same time, the kitchen is just a step outside the bathroom door.... funny.
Our bathroom faucet has not worked for ages, so the kitchen sink is also where we brush our teeth. The cabinet above the dishwasher holds plates, coffee cups and toiletries. By the way, I realize the irony of this when considering what my husband and I do for living.
