I found these little birds online that I really wanted to get for Baby Peters' room. She has lots of fun birdie art and bedding, I thought these would be perfect. Well, until I saw that they cost $16 each, and they didn't have the color combination that I wanted.

So, on this cold Presidents' Day I went to the fabric store and got all of the items needed to make lots of birds, for less than $16. I think that I'll make 5 or 6 of them in all different combinations to hang from her ceiling with this cute ribbon I found instead of a plastic mobile.
(Sorry I had to use the photo booth on my computer because AP has my camera with him.) I like the look of the hand stitching. I used a color of thread that was a little darker or lighter than the felt, so that the stitches can be seen.

these are adorable! Good job being crafty!!!
love 'em!
Please post a picture of the nursery!
Oh Beth, this is where the planning breaks down. I have lots of art and accessories, but no furniture. Right now, it's just a pile of cute stuff in the middle of an otherwise empty (but freshly painted)room. Believe me, I'll share when it's done!
These are so sweet. Great job!
Rachel, they're wonderful! I love them! Where oh where do you find the time? Heck, I don't work (serve, work, same same same) full-time and I still have only 3 pages done from my wedding scrapbook -- and Jeff and I were married in 2003!!
Way to go! I can't wait to see the nursery either!
Rachel, you are super crafty. Wish I had your talent. Kate
I love your little birdies! The pink cheeks on the green bird are so cute!
When Celia was here she played and played with those birds on a string in the window. She loved the birds on the carpet in the sunroom. I had no idea how many birds I had all around until a little girl found them all. MOM
